Geese landing on Lake Champlain

Geese. Did you know?

While on my hunt for Seaglass early this afternoon I was amused by my neighbor coming down to the beach to clap away the geese frolicking on her shoreline. Yep, I do the same thing. I now know that although the geese are fun to watch, you don’t want them on shore.

Why? Believe it or not those relatively small creatures can plop poops that are probably comparable in size to that of a border collie’s. In the case of geese, these plops come in bulk because there are so many geese in one spot at one time.

As I write this I guess my neighbor felt the clapping hands didn’t do the trick. I just heard a cannon fire. I don’t think it was actually a cannon but it was definitely something that made a loud sound.

Those geese are heading my way now. I’m going to stand my ground. I don’t want all those poops on our shoreline either!
